Choose the identity. Accept the consequences. Lead anyway.

“The greatest privilege in this lifetime is to become who you truly are.” Carl Jung

As we move into September, I keep coming back to those words because they capture so much of what this energetic quarter has been asking of us. We are entering the third and final month of Q2 of the energetic new year, and after everything that has unfolded since July, September feels less like another chapter and more like the point where we begin to understand what the previous two months were preparing us for.

When I recorded the quarterly forecast back in June, the message was choose the identity, accept the consequences, and lead anyway. July, with its 8 Energy, began the conversation around identity, power and authority. August moved us into the completion energy of 9, while eclipse season, Saturn retrograde and our 52-day Saturn cycle added considerably more intensity to an already powerful month.

Now we're entering September with a 1 Energy month inside a Universal 1 Energy year. There's an initiation happening, but before we get into that, I feel like we need to collectively acknowledge the question I've been hearing from people in my community and asking myself:

What the fuck just happened?

Because August was something.

The Quarter That Kept Building

July's 8 Energy was about choosing the identity, and throughout that month I kept using the octopus as a metaphor (8 arms…8 energy). An octopus can change its appearance to suit its environment. It shape-shifts to protect itself, survive and get what it needs, which is an extraordinary biological ability and a pretty interesting reflection of what human beings learn to do within our own environments.

We become who the family needs us to be. We adjust ourselves inside relationships. We learn which parts of us are rewarded at work and which ones make other people uncomfortable. Some adaptation is useful and necessary. The interesting question arrives when we've been doing it for so long that we can no longer tell the difference between adaptation and identity.

July invited us to examine that difference while Mercury retrograded in and out, followed by Saturn retrograde and our transition into a 52-day Saturn cycle, added another layer. I described that combination at the time as karma and responsibility on fucking steroids, and I stand by it.

Saturn asks us to examine responsibility, consequences, commitments, structures and the places where our own choices have contributed to the reality we're currently living inside. Retrogrades turn that examination inward, which matters when we look at what happened next.

August brought us into 9 Energy, sitting at the end of the numerological manifestation cycle with its natural relationship to endings, completion, release, grief and forgiveness. We were still moving through the Saturn influence when eclipse season arrived, creating another layer of revelation and change.

We also had the 8/8 portal, which gets enormously hyped in spiritual spaces and, truthfully, some of that hype has started to turn me off. Still, I believe there was a substantial activation of 8 Energy from August 8 through August 18, happening alongside eclipse season and everything Saturn had already stirred up.

Looking back, I can see how those energies were interacting. July asked us to take responsibility for the identity we were choosing. Saturn examined the structures and karmic loops underneath it. Then August's 9 Energy and eclipse season began exposing what could no longer travel forward with us.

That's where accept the consequences became much more than a theme for a forecast.

When the Forecast Becomes Your Life

For me, August became incredibly personal when my grandmother passed away.

She was the matriarch of our family and had been a mother figure throughout my life. She was only 39 when I was born, and after losing my mom in 2014, our relationship became even more significant because she was the last physical maternal anchor I had.

Her death was an ending I knew was coming. What I wasn't expecting was everything that came with it.

While I was back in Ontario, I went to one of my favourite secret beaches and discovered it had been closed. Signs warned that anyone caught walking there could receive a $200 fine, and I found myself experiencing a kind of grief I hadn't really named before.

Land grief.

Around the same time, I realized that once my grandmother died, the childhood home I had returned to throughout my entire life would no longer be somewhere I could simply go. There are three trees on that property that have been part of my story since childhood. I climbed them, hugged them, read underneath them, and when my mother died, we held a ceremony around one of those trees, a weeping willow, and scattered some of her ashes there.

One ending began touching every other ending connected to it. I was grieving my grandmother while grieving my mother again, along with a home, land, trees, childhood memories and the physical places that had held different versions of me.

That's when I started thinking about the grief case.

We all carry one, and we don't necessarily walk around consciously thinking about everything we've placed inside. Then something cracks it open and suddenly we're holding much more than the event directly in front of us.

August opened mine. It also brought ancestral patterns and family dynamics to the surface in ways I couldn't have completely predicted when I recorded the forecast. I had spoken about karmic cycles, endings, consequences, forgiveness and identity, and then found myself living those themes inside the family system that helped form my original identity in the first place.

There were moments when I looked back at the August forecast and thought, Holy shit, you're really good at this.

There were others when I would have happily been slightly less accurate.

So, Does September Get Easier?

People have been in my DMs asking what the hell is going on and whether everything will finally settle down in September.

My answer is yes and no.

Eclipse season is coming to a close, which changes part of the energetic landscape, but we don't wake up on September 1 detached from everything that was revealed in August. Saturn remains retrograde until December, and the experiences of the previous months have given us information that we now have to decide what to do with.

This is where September's 1 Energy becomes important.

One begins a new manifestation cycle and carries ideation, innovation, intuition and leadership. Experiencing that inside a Universal 1 Energy year amplifies those themes considerably.

When I first tuned into this quarter, I kept receiving an almost ridiculous amount of Star Wars imagery around September. The force awakens. The Jedi returns. There was a sense of something dormant coming back online, particularly for empaths, psychics and intuitives. I was also receiving songs about spreading your wings, including “I Believe I Can Fly,” which is unfortunate because my spiritual support team apparently has access to an enormous catalogue of music and still occasionally makes choices I strongly disagree with.

The message underneath it was useful.

There comes a point where understanding who you are has to become the experience of living as that person. July helped us see the identity. August revealed what choosing it might cost, including what needs to end, change or be released.

September asks us to move.

I don't experience that as a demand to reinvent ourselves. It feels more like a great remembering of who we were before we became so skilled at shape-shifting.

Full-Throttle Transmissions

When I forecasted the Universal 1 Energy of 2026, one of the messages I received was full-throttle transmissions.

For years I've described signs and synchronicities as divine breadcrumbs. We receive one clue, then another, and gradually start putting the pieces together. This year, I sensed those breadcrumbs would begin giving way to something more complete. Instead of receiving another puzzle piece, sometimes the entire picture arrives. The whole loaf so to speak.

You simply know.

September appears to amplify that experience through claircognizance, clairvoyance, telepathy and dreams. Our intuitive senses may become louder or clearer, and some of the information arriving may need time before we understand what it's showing us.

My own dreams have been doing exactly that. The night before recording the forecast, I dreamed about a childhood home where I lived with my mother. A friend of mine who died from addiction three years ago had filled my bedroom with her belongings, leaving very little space for me. Eventually I moved into the living room, but there were so many plants that I couldn't easily get through. Some had prickles, and I was trying to navigate the space without getting hurt.

My mother. My childhood home. My friend. Grief. Space. Boundaries. Obstacles. There is plenty there to unpack, and I'm deliberately giving myself time rather than deciding what every symbol means.

I've learned that intuition doesn't always require an immediate interpretation. Sometimes we receive the transmission first and understand its relevance later.

Then there are the lighter experiences. Recently, my partner and I were cuddling when he suddenly told me, “It's okay. You can go paint.”

I hadn't said anything. I was lying there thinking about how much I wanted to get up and play with my watercolours.

When I asked how he knew, he pointed toward his third-eye and said he could hear me thinking about it.

Apparently telepathy is now part of our quality time.

These experiences are worth noticing because Energetic Intelligence often reveals itself through ordinary moments. September invites us to become more aware of what we're receiving without forcing every experience into an explanation.

What's Been Hidden Is Now Revealed

This theme has been building throughout 2026 and intensified considerably through eclipse season: what's been hidden is now revealed.

That can involve relationships, money, purpose, business or family dynamics. Sometimes we discover something about another person or situation. Other times, what becomes visible is something about ourselves.

Eclipses illuminate what was previously difficult to see, while Saturn adds responsibility to the revelation. Once we recognize the pattern, we're faced with the question of what we're going to do with what we now know.

For me, one of those realizations has involved my relationship with truth. I've always been a truth seeker and speaker, but there have been times when I've held my tongue because I was concerned about how someone else would receive what I had to say.

August gave me an opportunity to respond differently.

Speaking honestly opened someone else's grief case. There was anger, sadness, projection and darkness, and the experience wasn't pleasant. What surprised me was my ability to remain grounded inside it. I could understand their pain without making their reaction mean I had betrayed myself by speaking.

That felt like another great remembering.

Sometimes the evidence of an identity shift is simply finding ourselves in a familiar situation and realizing we're responding differently.

The Fear of Being Misunderstood

Around September 17, Chiron and Aries bring another layer into this conversation, and the message I keep receiving is the fear of being misunderstood.

Many of us spend an extraordinary amount of energy managing other people's interpretations of us. We soften what we say, overexplain ourselves or hold back parts of our work until we can communicate them so perfectly that nobody could possibly disagree.

People will misunderstand us regardless.

September's frequency-first leadership asks us to remain connected to our own knowing while still being thoughtful about how we impact others. Those things can coexist.

This month doesn't feel particularly interested in helping us create an elaborate route around the fear. There may be something on the other side that looks a lot like freedom.

The Fall of the Narcissist and Fake Intelligence

One of the stranger themes I received for September was the fall of the narcissist and fake intelligence.

I wasn't initially sure why those two messages arrived together. The more I sat with them, though, the more I realized they share something important: both depend on our willingness to believe the presentation without questioning what's underneath it.

Narcissistic dynamics can create a distorted version of reality. Someone controls the narrative, positions themselves as the authority or victim, redirects responsibility and becomes incredibly skilled at convincing other people to participate in their version of events. The dynamic maintains its power for as long as the people around it continue questioning themselves instead of questioning the story they've been given.

As an empath, intuitive, psychic and highly sensitive person, I've had plenty of experience with this. Looking back, I can see how those relationships became spiritual assignments that taught me about boundaries, discernment and trusting what I was sensing even when someone else was telling me I had it wrong.

I'm grateful for what I learned. I also don't need any more of those fucking lessons.

There comes a point where discernment changes the entire dynamic. You recognize the pattern sooner. You stop arguing with someone else's manufactured reality. You stop handing your authority over to the person presenting the most convincing story and trust what you can actually see, feel and know.

And that is where I started to understand why fake intelligence arrived in the same transmission.

I use AI, so this isn't an argument against the technology. My concern is what happens when we use it to manufacture the appearance of intelligence, wisdom or authority that hasn't actually been developed. Someone can produce a beautifully written article, a book, a thought-leadership piece or an entire body of teaching without having lived, practiced or deeply understood what they're supposedly teaching.

The presentation can look incredibly convincing.

But what's underneath it?

That's the connection.

Both ask us to become more discerning about the difference between appearance and substance. Between a compelling narrative and truth. Between performed authority and embodied authority. Between someone who can speak the language and someone who has actually lived what they're speaking about.

As AI becomes increasingly capable of mimicking human intelligence, I believe our own Energetic Intelligence becomes even more important. Can you feel resonance? Can you recognize lived experience? Can you tell when someone is speaking from embodied wisdom rather than simply producing the right words? Can you trust what you know when the presentation in front of you is trying to convince you otherwise?

Maybe that's part of what September's great remembering is actually about.

We become harder to manipulate when we remember who we are.

We become harder to impress with manufactured authority when we trust our own intelligence.

And once we can see the illusion, it becomes very difficult to participate in it the same way again.

The gig is up. For both.

Forgive and Remember

Another September theme came through a family conversation when someone told me you haven't truly forgiven unless you've forgotten.

I respectfully disagreed.

Forgiveness doesn't require amnesia.

I don't believe we're meant to dwell in what happened or continue allowing an old experience to activate and trigger us. But forgetting isn't the goal either. There is wisdom in remembering, particularly when an experience has changed us or shown us something about ourselves that we don't want to lose.

Remembering can help us stay anchored in the identity we're choosing now. It reminds us why we created the boundary, why we stopped people-pleasing, or why we no longer say and do things simply to keep someone else comfortable.

I saw this play out within my own family in August.

My grandmother, whom I loved deeply, struggled with telling people what they wanted to hear. She didn't want to make someone else uncomfortable because then she had to experience their reaction and discomfort too. Over time, that pattern created problems for her and for other people within our family.

During the weeks surrounding her death, I watched my cousins respond differently. There was love, kindness and compassion, but people were also willing to speak honestly, share their perspective and allow someone else to have whatever reaction they were going to have.

For me, that was forgive and remember happening in real time.

We can forgive the people and patterns that came before us without developing amnesia about what those experiences taught us. Then, when we're presented with the same opportunity, we get to choose differently.

And sometimes ancestral healing really is that simple.

It doesn't always require a big ceremony or ritual. Sometimes a karmic loop is disrupted in an ordinary family conversation when someone decides to tell the truth instead of keeping the peace, hold the boundary instead of people-pleasing, or tolerate someone else's discomfort instead of abandoning themselves to make it go away.

Those seemingly small choices are how patterns that have existed within families for generations begin to change. They're also how an entire family system can start moving into a new identity.

So when I say forgive and remember, I'm not suggesting we carry the wound forward.

I'm saying we carry the wisdom.

Flow Over Force

After my grandmother's funeral, several of my cousins and I went back to the family farm. We had a barbecue, a few drinks, the kids played, and eventually we started dealing with everything that needed to be cleaned and organized.

My aunt had just lost her mother and was determined to help. I could see how much grief she was carrying and that it was beginning to spill onto the people around her, so I told her she was done for the day.

Take the grandchildren home and bake cookies.

She immediately told me she couldn't because she didn't have eggs. Her daughter had brought eggs, so apparently the Universe had anticipated the problem.

Then we had to negotiate chocolate chip versus peanut butter. They eventually returned with peanut butter chocolate chip cookies, which felt like a beautiful solution to a very serious problem.

More importantly, she came back differently.

She had stepped outside the intensity for a few hours, spent time with her grandchildren and given her nervous system room to experience something besides grief. I call this ‘the joy disruptor’ and it’s a great solution to many problems.

That experience keeps coming back to me when I think about September's message of flow over force.

We're entering powerful 1 Energy, which can create a desire to initiate and move, but September is also the ninth month of the calendar year. Nine needs nourishment, integration and rest. If we want full-throttle transmissions, we need enough space to receive them.

There are times when action is exactly what's required and others when three hours at the beach, an afternoon painting, a walk in the forest or a nap gives us access to something another three hours of work never could.

The September Dates I'm Watching

September 1 opens with powerful 1 Energy alongside the 10 of Diamonds, making it a beautiful day to focus on leadership, prosperity, abundance and spiritual wealth. Spend some time with what you're calling in, including gratitude for what hasn't physically arrived yet. If not this, something better. How does it get any better than this? What else is possible?

September 6 brings a 6 Energy day alongside the 6 of Diamonds while we're still inside our Saturn cycle and Saturn remains retrograde. I see the period from the 6th through the 9/9 portal as particularly supportive for karmic clearing. Look at the patterns you recognize in your family and your own life and consider writing the words This ends with me. Name the people pleasing, scarcity, anxiety or whatever continues repeating, then create whatever ritual of release feels meaningful.

On September 10, Uranus shifts retrograde, bringing disruption and radical change into the conversation. I know disruption is probably the last thing anyone wants after August, but Uranus is also connected to freedom. Sometimes something has to disturb the structure before we realize how confined we've become inside it.

September 16 brings an 8 Energy day alongside the 8 of Clubs, creating a beautiful moment to double down on practice and mastery, particularly around creativity, communication, messaging and how we're articulating this identity to the world. The following day brings the Chiron and Aries influence around being misunderstood, and on September 18 we enter a new 52-day Uranus cycle while Uranus itself is retrograde.

Yes, that's a lot of Uranus. I'm still immature enough to find that funny.

Then September 27 brings a powerful 1-1-1 activation alongside the 10 of Hearts, shifting our attention toward relationships, emotional and heart intelligence, community, partnerships and collaboration. As we initiate what's next, we're also being asked to notice who belongs there with us and which resources we're ready to call in.

Lead Anyway

As eclipse season comes to a close, I'm hoping there is more ease available to integrate what we've learned and understand the spiritual assignments we've been moving through. Saturn is still doing its work, Uranus is preparing to shake up structures that have become too small, and some of the consequences we accepted in August will continue unfolding.

September doesn't require all of that to disappear before we move forward.

The progression of this quarter makes more sense to me now than it did when I first received it. Choosing an identity changes our decisions, standards and relationships, which eventually requires the structures around us to change too. There are consequences to that, including endings we may not have anticipated.

Then we arrive at the moment when we have enough information to decide whether we're going to retreat into what's familiar or practice what we've been learning.

That's where September finds us.

There will always be another book to read, certification to take or piece of information to collect. Some of those things may genuinely support us, but there is also a point where gathering more information becomes a way of delaying the practice of what we already know.

The full-throttle transmission has come through. The invitation now is to pay attention to what has become clearer through these past few months, particularly the things you can no longer pretend you don't see. Notice where your intuition has become louder and where old identities no longer fit as comfortably as they once did. Give yourself enough space to receive what's trying to come through without assuming every moment of forward movement has to involve force.

September feels like a great remembering of who we were before we became so skilled at shape-shifting.

Maybe that's why the message that opened this forecast feels so appropriate now:

“The greatest privilege in this lifetime is to become who you truly are.”

We've spent this quarter choosing the identity and accepting what comes with that choice.

Now we lead anyway.

May the force be with you.
